Before the wedding, the two most important best man responsibilities are to help the groom when picking out his tuxedo for the wedding and planning the stag for the groom. Picking out a tuxedo can sometimes be a tricky thing to do. It is recommended that the best man check with the maid of honor to ensure that the groom and groomsmen know what colors will match with the bride’s maid dresses and flowers. After all, there is nothing worse than a wedding party that does not match! The best man is also going to want to try on his tuxedo at the same time as the groom to ensure that if they are wearing different colors it will look good together. Planning a stag is an entirely different responsibility all together.
It is the biggest of the best man obligations to organize and host a bachelor or stag party for the groom. You will want to be careful how you plan a stag so that everyone in attendance can enjoy themselves while remaining safe and ensuring things do not get out of hand. During this planning you are going to want to include the other groomsmen to help you with ideas and logistics of organizing such an event.
The best mans duties also extend to the wedding day itself. The best man should be sure that the groom sticks to the wedding day itinerary. He is there to support the groom in a situation where the groom may get nervous and the best man is also usually responsible for bringing the wedding rings to the ceremony. The best man will stand next to the groom during the wedding ceremony and will produce the rings when the person conducting the ceremony asks for them.
