Bride's Responsibilities

There are obviously many responsibilities for the bride and groom during their wedding day. First and foremost they have to show up!

The bride’s responsibilities are very thorough and important. First of all, with the help of her groom, she needs to plan the wedding, book venues, caterers, DJs and many other places and services for the wedding day. The bride and groom also need to create a wedding day itinerary for everyone involved so that they have the information needed to make the day go without a hitch. There are also many other people that have responsibilities during the bride’s wedding day.

The father of the bride’s responsibility is very large as well. If you are a more traditional family, the father of the bride may be responsible for paying for the wedding day. However, there are many other father of the bride duties and responsibilities that need to be considered. Usually the father of the bride needs to give a speech and thanks during the wedding reception. He also may be involved in planning and organizing things such as the venues for the wedding ceremony and reception. The father of the bride duties may also be very limited in a wedding where the bride and groom are more independent and wish to plan and pay for their own wedding. In this case, the father of the bride will still usually be asked to say a few words during the wedding reception and will also be given the honor of giving the bride away during the ceremony.

There are also mother of the bride duties that may be considered. Depending on the family situation, the mother of the bride may be asked to give away the bride if a father is not in the picture. She will also usually be asked to spend the day with the bride and her wedding party, including getting her hair styled with the wedding party and often dressing to match the wedding party. She will also typically dance with the groom during the first few dances at the wedding reception.

Duties of the parents of the bride differ depending on the bride and groom and their personalities. The parents of the bride may have a very active role in the wedding day and planning stages and they may have very little to do with the wedding day and planning. This will depend on the style of the bride and groom and how close they are with the bride and groom. No matter what they do on your wedding day. It will be a very important part and no wedding day is complete with a parent of the bride or groom present!
