Hiring a DJ

Hiring a DJ is a very important step in ensuring that you have an enjoyable and entertaining wedding reception dance for both yourself and your guests. When deciding one from all of the DJs you can hire, there are a few things that you are going to want to keep in mind.

First, the price is important. Shop around, make some calls and find out what range the DJs are going for in your area. You will get a good feel for the DJ that you are most interested in just by their conversation with you. Lean towards a DJ that is personable, asks questions about you and does not beat around the bush. You want to hire a party dj that is going to be honest and concerned about what they can do to make your day a better one. Finally, when you have a good idea of which DJs you would most like to hire, ask for references from them. Any reputable DJ will have no problems with giving you a few phone numbers of previous customers, which are willing to give references about their experiences with the DJ and their company. Call these people and see what they have to say. There is no better way to find out how good a DJ is at a wedding reception than to ask someone who had him DJ a wedding reception.

When deciding which djs to hire, be sure to also consider other value that they are willing to provide. Will they supply prizes for fun activities that are going to get you guests involved? Will they provide quite background music during your cocktail hour? In addition, will this be free of charge?

Dj hiring does not have to be hard at all! Just using these common sense rules will help you hire a party dj that will be the best for your wedding reception. Be sure that they play the kind of music that you enjoy and have a good selection of it. You do not want a country music DJ if you hate country music! When deciding which dj to hire, make sure to check what time they will be able to set up their equipment. You may not want to consider a DJ that will be setting up their equipment after guests have already arrived at your reception! Finally, be sure that the services they provide are in line with the prices they charge. You do not want to be paying top price for a DJ that does not set up early, does not provide great activity ideas and does not provide cocktail music for your guests.

Most of all make sure it is someone that you feel comfortable with. Let the dancing begin!
