Summer Wedding Style

June, July and August are the three months when couples most like to get married. It could be the warmth and sunshine and the high spirits that good weather bring. And, it could be that everyone is looking for a holiday and some frivolity in the summer. Whatever the reason, brides often envision getting married in the summertime.

Outdoor settings, like beaches, gardens, parks and backyards are perfect for summer weddings. Beach weddings have become quite popular in recent years. Many couples choose to take advantage of the beautiful long days and decide upon an afternoon wedding ceremony. The may also choose to say their vows underneath a glorious sunset.

In addition, when it comes to decorating your wedding location, summer wedding colors will brighten the area. The variety of flowers available for you to use in your flower arrangements are endless. Whereas in spring you have limitations due to the growing season, in the summer you can have your choice of fresh flowers. Alternatively, add a little zest to your centerpieces by using fresh fruit. Fill large vases with lemons or limes or fill bowls with green apples.

Celebrate the hot summer season by filling your wedding menu with fresh fruits and vegetables. Think of foods like watermelon, berries and corn on the cob. Fresh seafood is also a great idea if you live in a locale near the water. Or, have you considered a more casual affair, try having a backyard barbecue and serving potato salad. Some of these menus might seem too casual for a wedding, but with the right summer wedding attire and decorations, your wedding will seem like the formal affair it is.

Your choice of summer wedding favors is almost endless. You can still get the traditional purchased favors or you can go with something you chose yourself such as fresh fruit. In August a fresh pear and in July a ripe peach. Beach weddings call for sand dollars, sea shells and beach-themed candles. Or, try seeds or little plants. Or, for a hot sunny day, try giving out beautiful wooden fans or paper parasols for people to use during the ceremony and then take home.
